2nd NORTH SHORE SUGAR BOWL A Great Success!

11.5.2007 Waialua, Hawaii— The Waialua Bullpups Football & Cheer Association is pleased to announce that the 2nd NORTH SHORE SUGAR BOWL was a huge success as 5 youth football games were played on Saturday November 3, 2007 at Waialua High School Football Field. “There were many exciting games and very competitive, these little kids can really play!” said many spectators. The featured game was in the Midget division with the Waialua BULLPUPS taking on the Kapolei TITANS under the lights.

This year even more fun was added on Bowl Game Day as Xtreme Fun rides for the kids were also a part of the North Shore Sugar Bowl overall experience. What will we do for the North Shore Sugar Bowl in 2008 to make it even bigger/better? The good news is that we have some awesome ideas on the table and you just have to wait until next year to see!

“We created our own annual post-season bowl game in 2006 for several reasons; 1. Have a truly special fun filled day for our Waialua BULLPUPS Football Players and Cheer girls, 2. Raise money for our association and 3. Show case our youth football & cheer program as well as others around the league to our North Shore Community” said Waialua Bullpups Football & Cheer Association executive board members. They went on to say, “The 2nd NORTH SHORE SUGAR BOWL accomplished all our goals once again and a whole lot more and we appreciate everyone's participation and support. We are planning to have our 3rd NORTH SHORE SUGAR BOWL in 2008 around the same date and hopefully we see all of you back again!”

The weather forecast for the 2nd NORTH SHORE SUGAR BOWL didn't look all that promising leading up to the event calling for thunder storms, rain and flooding in Hawaii however, Mother Nature cooperated yet again in 2007 like in 2006 we were blessed with a great day in Waialua to play football!

For an event like this to be successful, much help is needed and we would like to acknowledge the following people; Melanie Hatchie (Waialua BULLPUPS President), Michele Lunasco (North Shore Sugar Bowl Secretary/Awards/T-Shirt), Bunny Ng, Danny & Iwalani Kapika (Concession) & Waialua High & Intermediate School. Of course our fearless leaders had much more help from countless others but we can’t mention all of them here and we sincerely appreciate all their help/contributions not only during our NORTH SHORE SUGAR BOWL but all year long!

We also want to send out a big mahalo to the following participating Presidents and their teams; Helen Ota (Village Park Warriors), Linda Padela (Pearl City Chargers), Chrissy Napuelua Ahyee (Kapolei Titans), Scott Aikau (Hawaii Young Warriors), Linda Woosley (Nanakuli Hawks) & Lisa Roy (Aiea Eagles).

Once again mahalo to everyone who played a part in making the 2nd NORTH SHORE SUGAR BOWL a great success and we look forward to seeing all of you next year at the "Sweetest Youth Football Bowl Game in Hawaii!"
